Tasnim – An Iranian Health Ministry official denied rumors about an outbreak of swine flu in the country.
In comments on Saturday, Mohammad Mahdi Guya, director of a ministerial center for prevention of contagious diseases, said Iran is not facing any outbreak of H1N1 flu.
He added that nearly all cases of flu in Iran in this year’s cold season included H3N2 strain.
In January, the Foreign Ministry urged Iranian citizens to avoid traveling to Georgia where a swine flu had broken out.
The H1N1 flu strain, commonly known as swine flu, spread throughout Georgia in early 2019, killing a number of people.
