Indonesian FM: No official information on Warsaw Meeting

23 Jan 2019 - 10:20

IRNA – Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said on Tuesday that she has not received any official information about Warsaw Meeting to be able to talk about it.

Talking to IRNA on the sidelines of the United Nations Security Council’s meeting themed ‘Middle East and Issue of Palestine’, she declined to show any reaction toward the conference slated to be hosted by Warasw.

“We have received unofficial news about the meeting and we cannot take stance on their basis,” she said.

Warsaw anti-Iran meeting themed ‘Peace and Security in Middle East’ will be held on February 13-14.

The US tries to bring together European and Middle Eastern anti-Iran countries in the meeting and that’s for the same reason that Iran has protested holding the conference describing it as an antagonistic move.

Russia has declined Poland’s invitation to attend the event.

“We will not take part in the conference. I have spoken about the meeting in United Nations Security Council’s today [Tuesday] meeting and it is very clear what the objective of the conference is,” said Russia's UN envoy, Vasily Nebenzya.
