IRNA – Iran’s national football team defeated Vietnam 2-0 on Saturday to gain an early advance to the knockout stage of 2019 AFC Asian Cup underway in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Iranian striker Sardar Azmoon scored both goals for Iran's national team at 38 and 70 minutes.

With a 5-0 win against Yemen on Monday, Iran now has bagged 6 points from its first two matches in Group D of the competitions gaining an early spot in the Round of 16.

Therefore, Iran’s last group phase match against Iraq will be a friendly-like game.
