Iran, Afghanistan to boost trade ties

IRNA – Governor General of Iran’s South Khorasan province and Afghan Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce Kamila Sidiqi called for promoting bilateral relations and increasing trade exchanges.

The visiting Iranian official Mohammad Sadeq Motamadian in a meeting with Sidiqi referred to his province’s potentials in the fields of trade, mines and transit and called for using the capabilities.

Both officials stressed the need for boosting trade, particularly via South Khorasan.

Motamadian voiced provincial officials and economic activists’ readiness for promoting mutual trade and setting up joint companies for imports and exports of both countries.

He also called for removing obstacles in the way of bilateral relations through consultations and talks.

He also invited Sidiqi to visit Iran for talks with the Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Reza Rahmani and other officials.

Sidiqi, for her part, welcomed his invitation and called for further development of bilateral ties.
