Tasnim – Tehran’s new provisional Friday prayers leader slammed the US for having wreaked havoc on every part of the world it has been present in, including the Middle East, adding that the Middle East has turned into the graveyard of US’ dreams.
Hojjatoleslam Mohammad Javad Haj Ali Akbari led the first Friday prayers in Tehran after being appointed by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei as one of the capital’s provisional Friday prayers leaders.
In his address to the worshippers, the cleric highlighted the US humiliation in the region and the harmful effects of US military presence in the Middle East, saying, “Wherever the Americans went, they brought misery and catastrophe to nations.”
Expressing satisfaction with the US pullout from Syria, Haj Ali Akbari added, “The resistance of people of the region turned the Middle East into the graveyard of the US’ dreams.”
He then pointed to the tough days that the Zionist regime is now experiencing, saying Israel’s breakdown threshold has reached only two days.
“Today, the axis of resistance has shaped the golden chain of resistance in the region, whose rings are Lebanon’s Hezbollah, national forces in Syria, (Iraq’s) Hashad al-Shabi, Yemen’s Ansarullah and the popular resistance of Nigeria,” the Iranian cleric stated.
He also highlighted the Iranian nation’s achievements in keeping to the resistance path, saying people of the country will celebrate this year’s anniversary of victory of the Islamic Revolution more magnificently.
In remarks in June 2018, Ayatollah Khamenei said the US president has acknowledged that his country has spent $7 trillion in West Asia without achieving any results, describing it as the US defeat in the region.
“This confession proves that the Great Satan (the US) has not achieved its goals despite all its efforts, and henceforth, however much they spend in this region, once again, they will not be able to reach their goals,” the Leader said.
