Iran has no forces in Yemen: Official

9 Dec 2018 - 9:41

IRNA – A Yemeni Ansarullah movement official on Saturday dismissed allegations on presence of Iran's military troops in Yemen, describing it as a rumor.

Abdelmalek Ajari, also representative of the Houthi movement’s leadership in Stockholm talks, said that missile used by Yemen against Saudi aggressions are Yemen-made and “we fire them to defend our dignity.”

There are Saudi mercenaries and foreign elements among those hled captive by the Houthis, he said, reiterating that no Iranian force is present in Yemeni soil.

Fourth round of Yemen peace talks attended by Yemeni parties and the United Nations envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths started in Stockholm on Thursday and will continue for a week.

The talks were initially slated to be hosted by Geneva on September 6, but it was postponed due to Saudi and UAE acts of obstructionism.

First and second rounds of the negotiations were held in Geneva in 2015 as well as third round hosted by Kuwait in 2016 failed to produce any results.
