ISNA - Senior Advisor to the Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution in International Affairs, Ali Akbar Velayati condemned the Thursday terrorist attack in the southeastern port city of Chabahar, stressing that Iran will give harsh response to perpetrators and supporters of this heinous act.

“The Thursday terrorist attack in Chabahar, which killed and wounded several innocent Iranian people, was a sign of desperation and frustration of terrorist groups and their supporters aiming at destabilizing and hurting sovereignty of the country,” he said.

“Our enemies should know that the great nation and government of Iran with their resistance will foil all the conspiracies of enemies in the region and Iran waged against the country” Velayati added.

“Without a doubt, the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to its path of dignity and sovereignty and the perpetrators and the violent death-mongers who take orders from notorious centres will soon be severely punished for committing this crime, no matter where they are ” the official noted.

Velayati condoled with the Iranian nation, especially the families of those martyred, and wished speedy recovery for those injured in the "cowardly" attack.
