Iran overtakes Turkey, Zionist regime in stem cell development

MNA – Vice President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari said the Islamic Republic of Iran took over neighboring Turkey and Zionist regime in development of stem cell technology.

Sattari made the remark in the closing ceremony of 3rd National Festival and International Congress on Stem Cell & Regenerative Medicine, held this morning in the presence of First Vice President Es’hagh Jahangiri.

“3,700 knowledge-based companies were set up in Iran since the beginning of Dr. Rouhani's government," he added.

Some knowledge-based companies managed to export their products, he said, adding, accordingly, effective steps have been taken in this regard for exporting products of knowledge-based companies to other countries.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Sattari pointed to Iran’s global level at stem cells development, saying “according to the available statistics, Islamic Republic of Iran has been ranked 14th in the field of production of stem cell-related articles.”

Turning to the number of active knowledge-based companies active in the field of stem cells, he stated, “of total 120 knowledge-based companies active in the field of stem cell, 80 have managed to supply cell therapy products at the consume market.”

In this regard, several cooperation agreements have been signed and sealed with Iranian universities of Medical Sciences working in the field of regenerative medicine, Sattari added.
