27 Nov 2018 - 16:44

IRNA – Thanks to Iranian army and other armed forces and the people’s wisdom, enemies never think of military attack against Iran, said Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri on Tuesday.

General Baqeri made the remarks during the 11th meeting of the Iranian Army’s Ground Forces commanders to mark the anniversary of the order of the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini in 1979 to establish Basij (volunteer forces) and the National Day of Navy Forces.

He said that the Islamic revolution was an exceptional event that made a fundamental evolution in the country’s policies and administration.

He added that the US was the supporter of Iranian army during the Pahlavi regime, but has turned to Iran’s biggest enemy since the victory of the Islamic revolution.

Stressing Iranian Army’s readiness to face any kind of threat in borders, he added, “Army’s readiness has made world powers to conclude that raging military wars against Iran would be ineffective.”

Saying that the army must be prepared in a way that the enemies even think of raging a war, he added that readiness during peacetime is deterrent and results in enemy’s regret and loss.

“In case of attacking Iran, the enemy would face immediate response in less than 48 hours and would leave the battlefield with shame,” General Baqeri reiterated.

He referred to the Zionist regime’s policy to produce and propagate Takfiri thoughts in Islamic nations, adding that the global arrogance made conflicts between the Muslims with Takfiri thoughts in order to waste their energy which should be used to confront the Zionist regime.

He stressed that Takfiri thoughts have been created to oppose the Islamic revolution thinking.

Elsewhere in his remarks, General Baqeri pointed to Afghanistan’s security issues especially in border areas, saying that the recent cession of the responsibility of securing the Iran-Afghanistan borders in Northern and Southern Khorasan provinces to the Iranian army is a novel opportunity to make these borders the most secure in the region.
