MNA – Iranian Parliament’s specialized commissions will study the proposal on impeachment of Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli on Monday (Nov. 5).
25 MPs, in a letter dated Oct. 3, submitted their request for impeachment of Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli to the Parliament’s presiding board, over criticism that he has failed to fulfill several critical factors during his service.
The minister’s negligence on security issues, especially the terrorist attack in the southern city of Ahvaz, is regarded as one of the main reasons behind the proposal on his impeachment. Rahmani Fazli, who assumed office on August 15, 2013 in the first term of Hassan Rouhani’s presidency, is also the head of the State Security Council (SSC).
Lack of supervision on smuggling, insufficient monitoring of the performance of the municipalities and failure to provide practical plans for constant development in different sectors are also among the MP’s points on questioning the minister.
