MNA – Iranian Parliament Speaker's Special Aide Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has described the so-called Deal of the Century as 'a repetitive show' which is doomed to failure as the resistance will continue against US and Israeli plots.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in an interview with Tehran-based Arabic language Al Alam TV network on Sunday afternoon.
“I believe that the visit of Netanyahu to the Sultanate of Oman was far from the wisdom we used to see in Sultan Qaboos,” Amir-Abdollahian said, adding “of course, throughout his rule in Oman, he has always made efforts to mediate and resolve complicated regional issues, but given the fact that the Israeli illegitimate regime forms one side of the conflict in the region... his behavior was unjustifiable.”
“Although [Omani Foreign Minister] Bin Alawi provided clarifications and tried to present the visit as having been done to improve the situation of the Palestinians, however, the recognition of the Zionist prime minister and hosting him in Muscat by Sultan Qaboos is by no means justifiable and far from the wisdom we used to see in Sultan Qaboos,” he added.
He pointed out that Netanyahu's meeting with Sultan Qaboos comes within the framework of attempts to normalize Arab-Israeli relations.
He pointed out “what we have seen in recent months in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE shows that the leaders of these countries are trying to exploit the opportunity of meetings and conferences and some sports games and trade relations to normalize relations with the Zionist entity.”
"But I believe that the Sultanate of Oman is still an exception and that meeting did not take place in order to achieve ‘the Deal of the Century,” the Iranian official added.
Meanwhile, he reiterated that Iran does not approve the meeting at all because it is as always firmly opposed to recognizing the existence of the Zionist regime.
He stressed that the Palestinian resistance groups will not allow US president Donald Trump and his team to succeed in progressing the ‘Deal of the Century’ plot.
"The Deal of the Century faces a number of major problems, including that this old wound, which is 70 years old, cannot be cured in a matter of months. Secondly, the Oslo agreement and other agreements, including Camp David, revealed that the political agreements cannot succeed without taking into account the Palestinians’ rights..."
Elsewhere, he pointed out that Saudi Arabia spends billions of dollars to kill Yemeni women and children , but refuses to provide the Palestinian resistance factions with weapons.
He added that the new rulers of Saudi Arabia are fanning the flames of war in the region by supporting terrorist groups.
