IRNA – Iranian first vice president on Monday urged the Foreign Ministry to protest the US sanctions imposed on the country's health sector.
The Foreign Ministry should pursue through the international courts and communities the case of the US' sanctions on import of drugs and medical equipment, Eshaq Jahangiri said in a local ceremony.
In the meantime, Iran's Parliament Vice-Speaker Masoud Pezeshkian said a taskforce has been established to pursue through diplomatic channels the case of patients in need of drug.
The US President Donald Trump mounted pressure on Iran and on May 8 announced that Washington would withdraw from Iran's nuclear deal and re-impose nuclear-related sanctions on the country.
This is while most world powers, including Russia, China, and the European Union, have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of the world peace and security.
