Iran's Ambassador in Turkish capital Ankara Ali Riza Bigdeli said Monday Iran was pleased with Turkey's growth and development, inviting Turkish entrepreneurs to invest in his country.
Bigdeli met Ostim Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (OSIAD) Chairman Adnan Keskin and representatives of Turkish firms operating in Iran, an OSIAD statement said.
Iran's ambassador said Western sanctions on Iran prevent the two Muslim countries engaging in better trade partnership, adding that Turkey needs to strengthen its ties with its neighbors.
"An entrepreneur wants to do business in safe regions," Bigdeli said. "Iran is a safe country for Turkish investors. Come and invest in Iran."
OSIAD Chairman Keskin pointed to problems Turkish firms encounter in transactions while doing business in Iran.
Keskin added he disapproved of Western sanctions prohibiting trade of vital commodities.
