IRNA – Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif has met his Swedish counterpart in New York and the two have discussed regional and international issues.
Iran's top diplomat met Margot Wallström Thursday evening in the margin of the United Nations General Assembly meeting in the American city.
Zarif elaborated on Iran's regional stances, latest developments in Syrian and Idlib, the last terrorist bastion in the country. Iraq, Afghanistan and Yemen were also among other topics discussed by the Iranian and Swedish foreign ministers.
Zarif accompanied the country's President Hassan Rouhani in his visit to New York for attending the 73rd UNGA.
During his stay in New York, he also met with his counterparts from around the world, including the foreign ministers of remaining signatories to the Iran 2015 nuclear deal, known as Group 4+1.
