Tasnim – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), in a statement on Tuesday, underlined Iran’s military might and said enemies are so frightened by the Iranian Armed Forces’ power that they cannot carry out their “harsh threats” against the country.
“Three decades after the imposed and all-out war of the global arrogance against the Islamic Revolution and the Iranian nation, which ended in failure of the great conspiracy of the united front of enemies of Islam and the Islamic homeland, the flag of this land’s resistance is still flying,” the IRGC said in the statement which was released on the occasion of the Sacred Defense Week, marking the onset of the 1980-1988 Iraqi imposed war on Iran.
The country’s resistance has, on the one hand, angered the ill-wishers and, on the other hand, led to the satisfaction of those who are interested in the Islamic Republic and the Revolution, the statement added.
At a time when plots and threats of the enemy have targeted the Iranian nation more than the era of the Iraqi imposed war and as the evil enemies led by the US and its “filthy and adventurous” president have focused on economic war and cruel sanctions against Iran's Establishment and nation, it is the defense power of the (Iranian) Armed Forces that has prevented their “harsh threats” from being put into practice by striking fear in their hearts and minds, the IRGC statement went on to say.
Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, including its missile power, which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will be never subject to negotiations.
Back in February 2018, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called for efforts to maintain and boost Iran’s defense capabilities, hitting back at the enemies for disputing the country’s missile program.
“Without a moment of hesitation, the country must move to acquire whatever is necessary for defense, even if the whole world is opposed to it,” Ayatollah Khamenei said on February 18.
