IRNA – Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow on Wednesday called for the elevation of all-out ties with Iran, including cooperation in the Caspian Sea.
Iran has the capacity to respond to Turkmenistan's demands in the trade and economic fields, Berdimuhamedow made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian President's Chief of Staff Mahmoud Vaezi.
The Turkmen president thanked Iran's support for the country since its independence and called for the two counties' cooperation in fields of economy, transit and culture.
Iran-Turkmenistan relations are historic and culture-based, he said, while expressing his satisfaction over the current level of political ties between Tehran and Ashgabat.
The official also called for joint cooperation between the two littoral states of the Caspian Sea to exploit the economic opportunities, there.
