ISNA - Iran-China economic relations have faced 2.2% increase during the first half of 2018, China’s deputy ambassador to Tehran announced Tuesday.
“The worth of Iran – china trade reached $19.660 billion during the first half of 2018, showing 2.2% growth in their trade relations comparing to the same period last year,” said the deputy ambassador during 9th Iran-China Friendship Society forum held in Tehran.
The Chinese diplomat said, “During the recent years the two countries have had significant progress in their political, economic, social and cultural relations”.
Pointing to that Chinese president’s visit to Iran in 2016 and his counterpart’s attendance in Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit this year, the official said, “The authorities of the two countries are in constant discussion for more developments and progress in their bilateral ties”.
According to the Chinese diplomat, “China is trying to preserve its trade relations with Iran as a great partner and to reach this goal, we need to push for close ties between the people of the two countries to enhance comprehensive relations”.
“China Friendship Society with other countries has made broad efforts toward the purpose and China’s embassy in Iran is looking forward to preserving and promoting friendly relations and cooperation with Tehran,” he added.
