Tasnim – Iranian sisters Elaheh and Shahrbanoo Mansourian won two silver medals in wushu event in the 2018 Asian Games on Thursday.
Elaheh claimed a silver medal in the Women’s Sanda -52kg final after losing to Li Yueyao from China 2-0.
Shahrbanoo also claimed a silver, losing to Chinese Cai Yingying 2-1 in Women's Sanda -60kg Final.
Another Iranian wushu athlete Foroud Zafari took a silver medal in the Men's Sanda -65kg Final after being defeated by Chinese Li Mengfan.
Iranian wushu practitioners Erfan Ahangarian in the Men’s -60kg and Mohsen Mohammadseifi in the Men’s -70kg had already won two gold medals in the Games.
The 2018 Asian Games, officially known as the 18th Asian Games and also known as Jakarta Palembang 2018, is a pan-Asian multi-sport event scheduled to be held from 18 August to 2 September in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang.
The athletes compete in 465 events across 40 sports and 67 disciplines.
