IRNA – Tokyo is after enhancement of economic and political relations with Tehran, a Japanese official said on Tuesday.
Japanese parliament is ready to develop ties with Iran in various issues, Koichi Hagiuda, Executive Acting Secretary-General of Japan's Liberal Democratic Party, said in a meeting with Iran's Ambassador in Tokyo Morteza Rahmani-Movahed.
Referring to the 90th anniversary of establishment of Tehran-Tokyo relations next year, Hagiuda said Japan's parliament will endeavor to enhance bilateral cooperation in various areas.
For his part, the Iranian ambassador stressed the importance of deepening bilateral relations, parliamentary ties in particular.
As Rahmani-Movahed said, the Iranian nation and government see Japan as a respectable and important country.
He further expressed hope that the Japanese parliament would play a leading role, as it did before, in achieving the set goals of the two countries.
Iran's ambassador presented a copy of his credentials to Japan's Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Takeo Akiba about a month ago.
