IRNA – Navy Commander Rear Admiral Amir Hossein Khanzadi recalled significance of sea economy, saying that the force will ensure security of all Iranian exports and imports via sea.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Navy’s representative office in Hassan Kif, Kelardasht, he added that the Navy will safeguard security of all Iranian exports and imports in northern and southern waters whereby 90 percent of the exports and imports are conducted.

“We are equipped with most complicated infrastructure and manpower to ensure sea, air and coastlines security,” he said.

Noting that 90 percent of trade is conducted via sea, Khanzadi said that West Asian countries can be a major global power due to the four main sea passages in the area.
