Tasnim - Iranians observed the longest total lunar eclipse known as 'blood moon' in Tehran, Isfahan and other big cities across the country on Friday night until Saturday morning.
People equipped with telescopes, long-lenz cameras and binoculars got the chance to watch closely as the lunar eclipse turned the silver moon red.
The term ‘blood moon’ comes from the crimson red shade the moon takes when it is in Earth's shadow.
This was the longest total lunar eclipse of the 21st century, with moon reportedly spending 1 hour 43 minutes in Earth's shadow.
