IRNA - A prominent law expert from Geneva's Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies urged Canada to be aware of its senior officials' connection with anti-Iran terrorist Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO).
“#Canada should seriously investigate the scope and nature of @stephenharper [Canada's 22nd Prime Minister Stephen Harper] and @Baird's [Former Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird] relationship with the #MEK [MKO] cult during their tenure as Prime and Foreign ministers,” Reza Nasri wrote in his Twitter account.
“@stephenharper also spoke at the event, which lets presume that his irrational hostile policies toward #Iran (namely the closure of embassies and the de-listing of #MEK from terror list) were not predicted upon #Canada's national interests as claimed, but upon lobby influence,” he added.
Meanwhile, Sanam Shantyaei, Journalist at France 24, wrote in her twitter account that “Rudy Giuliani [Former Mayor of New York City ] & Newt Gingrich [Former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives ] are speaking at the #MEK rally in Paris this Saturday. This is a cult-like group with a known terrorist past & a long list of well-paid supporters, reportedly including John Bolton. According to a US official, they offer between $20k-30k for speeches.”
Earlier a senior Iranian lawmaker criticized the European countries for hosting the anti-Iran terrorist MKO and its meetings.
It is expected that the European Parliament clarify the terrorist identity of MKO for the EP members, Iranian chairman of Iran-EP Parliamentary Relations Group Kazem Jalali said in a letter to Janusz Lewandowski, the European Chairman of the group.
Jalali wrote also separate letters to Philippe Bonnecarrère, French senator and President of France-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group as well as Delphine O, a member of French National Assembly.
