IRNA – A senior Iranian cleric on Friday called for using the Economy of Resistance policies outlined by the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei to thwart the US sanctions.
The current economic problems are not the result of sanctions but they are the result of not paying full attention to the Economy of Resistance policies outlined by the Supreme Leader and instead expecting the resolution of economic problems via the nuclear deal, known also as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, Tehran Interim Friday Prayer Leader Ayatollah Kazem Seddiqi said in the second sermon.
US President Donald Trump announced on May 8 that Washington would pull out of Iran nuclear deal and reinstate nuclear sanctions on Iran.
This is while most world powers, including Russia, China, and the European Union have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of the world peace and security.
He referred to pressures of the US and its allies to restrict Iran's progresses in defense field and said that the defense capabilities are for deterrence.
The cleric underlined continuation of the country's scientific progress in all fields, in particular, the civilian nuclear science.
