MNA – Top Military Aide to the Iranian Leader Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi has said that the US is seeking to topple Syrian government to cut off Iran’s support for Hezbollah and other Resistance movements.







“The Americans in the Syrian crisis are pursuing the security and future of the Zionist regime in the medium and long run…”  Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi said in a meeting on Wednesday.

He noted that the Americans want pro-Israel and the US regimes to come to power in the northern part of the West Asia region in line with their own as well as Israeli regime’s interests.

"They seek to cut off Iran’s support for Hezbollah in Lebanon by overthrowing the Syrian government, and next they want to go for Hezbollah and other Islamic Resistance groups (Hamas and Islamic Jihad) after Syria, and then they will come toward Iraq and eventually Iran,“ the top military aide to the Iranian Leader underlined.

He further noted that disintegrating the Islamic countries in the region (Iraq, Syria, Yemen, etc.) and the weakening of Iran's cultural, social, political and security influence in the Islamic countries are among other goals of the United States in the Syrian crisis.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Major General Safavi stressed that all Iranians should join hands and help the government to solve the economic problems and foil enemies’ plots.
