MNA – FIFA president Gianni Infantino will watch Wednesday’s Iran-Spain match from the Kazan Arena, IRNA reported.
This would be the second match for both Iran and Spain. While Iranians gained a dramatic victory over Morocco at their first match, Spain earned only 1 point against Cristiano Ronaldo’s team.
Iran is now at top of Group B and has a high chance of advancing to the knockout stage for the first time in their history.
Another interesting point regarding Kazan Arena is that it is home to Russian club Kubin Kazan which uses Iranian forward Sardar Azmoun in their squad. The talented 23-year-old footballer, who is sometimes called ‘Iranian Messi’, is totally familiar with the stadium and it is expected that he stuns spectators in the coming game.
