IRNA – The fights between Sulaymaniyah in Iraq and Iranian cities will be restarted in near future, said an official of Sulaymaniyah Airport.

'Iranian airline companies are ready to restart the flights to the airport,' Dana Mohammad told Rudaw news channel.

He said that it is expected that the flights begin next month.

After the referendum that was held on September 25, 2017, in Iraqi Kurdistan, the Government of Iraq banned all international flights to and from Sulaymaniyah and Erbil.

The referendum was obviously contrary to international law and the constitution of Iraq.
