China favors keeping, implementing JCPOA

24 May 2018 - 16:46

IRNA – Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said on Wednesday that Beijing will work for keeping and implementing Iran nuclear deal known as the JCPOA, as the deal has proved its efficiency over the past three years.

In a news meeting with reporters in Beijing, he added that China believes that maintaining integrity and seriousness will not only be fruitful for preserving NPT and peace and stability in the Middle East but also will serve as model for resolving other international issues.

Given the status quo, China urges all the parties to the deal to fulfill their due responsibility and have a comprehensive look at the issue and think of dialogue as a way for solving the issue, he said.

China will remain committed to preserving and implementing the JCPOA, he reiterated.

US President Donald Trump pulled the country out of the landmark nuclear deal officially known as JCPOA, saying that sanctions lifted by JCPOA will be reinstated.

Trump’s decision drew fierce criticism from its partners in the deal and international community.
