IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani in a message congratulated the Iranian women's national futsal team on their valuable victory, saying that their championship in the global competition is another indication of the Iranian women’s capabilities, dynamism and merit.


The message read that valuable championship of the women's national futsal team in Asian competitions for the second consecutive times made the sports-loving countrymen happy.

“The sweet victory is another indication of Iranian women and girls’ dynamism, capabilities and merits,” hoping that the honorable and hope-inspiring path would continue.

“I congratulate the Iranian nation on the valuable victory and appreciate coaches of the teams,” he said, wishing eternal dignity for the youth of the Islamic Iran.

The Iranian team defeated Japan 5-2 and became champion of the 2018 AFC Women's Futsal Championship for the second consecutive year.

The Iranian futsal players had a brilliant performance in the second half of the game and astounded the Japanese squad.

The 2018 AFC Women's Futsal Championship started on May 2 and ended on May 12.
