IRNA – The Vice President of Iran for Women and Family Affairs arrived in Jakarta, the Indonesian capital, on Tuesday to participate in a meeting of Islamic scholars and figures named Moderate Islam.
Masoumeh Ebtekar was officially welcomed by Indonesian Minister of Female Empowerment and Child Protection Yohana Yembise.
Ebtekar partakes in the event at the invitation of Indonesian President's Special Envoy for Dialogue and Interreligious Cooperation and Civilization Din Syamsuddin. The conference will be held in Bogor, located 60 kilometers south of Jakarta.
Meeting the Indonesian President Joko Widodo and addressing the Indonesian Women's Congress is said to be in Ebtakar's schedule in her visit.
Some authorities of women's affair in Iran accompany her on the visit.
The head of the supreme council of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought Ayatollah Mohammad-Ali Taskhiri is also among the invited figures to the conference.
