IRNA – After ownership of Danish company Maersk Oil was taken by the French Total, Iran decided not to give the development of the South Pars field to Total, said Iran's minister of petroleum on Monday.
'We had had good talks with Maersk Oil, which were close to being finalized, but Total bought the company,' said Bijan Zangeneh.
He said that the oil field is now producing 20,000 barrels a day now; Iran has made requests for its development but has not received any serious offers, yet.
