Presidential candidate Mohammad Gharazi has ruled out the possibility of stepping aside in favor of others, saying he will see the race to the end.
Addressing a press conference in Tehran on Monday, he said that many of his fellow Reformists have written to him asking for his withdrawal in favor of the other two Reformist candidates Hassan Rohani and Mohammad-Reza Aref.
“I said that I see no interest in stepping aside in favor of anybody and therefore wrote a letter to the Guardian Council and said that I will not withdraw in favor of anybody,” Gharazi added.
The candidate further stated that he would divide Tehran Province into six new small provinces to speed up its development if he is elected president.

The former Telecommunications Minister stressed that domestic production should be revived in all fields and the imports of goods should be stopped completely.

He emphasized that his administration will restore the value of the national currency and tackle inflation and unemployment, saying the country is currently in dire need of controlling inflation.
“We should think of settling the issue of inflation and establishing stability in society in order to resolve all problems in the country.”
He also says he’ll restore the national currency’s value and tackle inflation and unemployment.

In addition to Gharazi, the other political figures approved by the Guardian Council are MP Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, former Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Velayati, Supreme National Security Council Secretary Saeed Jalili, the director of the Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council Hassan Rohani, Secretary of the Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei, former First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref, and Tehran Mayor Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf.

Iranians go to the polls in the country’s 11th presidential election on June 14.
