IRNA - The senior advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader said the relations between Iran and China are constructive and strategic.

Ali Akbar Velayati made the remarks Sunday in a meeting with member of China Foreign Ministry advisory committee.

Fortunately, the relations between two countries are increasing, he said.

Meanwhile, Chinese official said China and Iran enjoy ancient civilizations in Asia.

The relations between two countries started thousands of years ago and the Silk Road had connected them together, he said.

He also referred to Chinese President Xi Jinping’s trip to Iran, and expressed hope for developing ties between two countries.
