Int’l lawyer warns against US withdrawal from JCPOA

9 Apr 2018 - 15:06

IRNA - A prominent law expert from Geneva's Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies has warned against US president's possible decision to walk away from Iran nuclear deal.

“If the U.S violates the JCPOA on May 12th, it should not be allowed to use and abuse its embedded mechanisms - like the 'snap-back mechanism' - to further pressure Iran,” Reza Nasri said Sunday in a Twitter message.

“It can't pick and choose the provisions of the Iran Deal,” he noted.

Nasri went on to say that “Mr. Trump can't have his cake and eat it too!”

Trump is expected to announce his decision regarding suspending sanctions against Iran and continuing implementation of JCPOA on May 12.

The US administration has done a great deal over past year to kill Iran nuclear deal.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has already confirmed ten times Iran's commitment to the landmark July 2015 international deal.

This is while European countries are trying to guarantee implementation of Iran nuclear deal.
