A collection of photos displaying Iran’s sacred defense in 1980s imposed war has been showcased at Tehran’s Palestine Museum of Contemporary Art.
Some 40 pictures taken by Saeed Hajikhani have been exhibited at the museum during an opening ceremony held on May 24, 2013.

The photos depict the bravery of Iranian soldiers during the war and their daily routines such as reading books, praying and watching films, according to the director of the Islamic Revolution and Sacred Defense Society Mohammad Hossein Heidari.

The exhibited photos along with a number of some other photographers’ war pictures are slated to be published in a book, Hajikhani noted.

A number of those soldiers whose photos are on show were invited to the opening ceremony to renew their old memories.

Iraq's executed dictator Saddam Hussein invaded Iran on September 22, 1980 in a war that dragged on for eight years.

The brave Iranian soldiers fought in the 1980-1988 Iraqi-imposed war and defended their country from enemy aggressions.

The war photo exhibition is scheduled to run until one month.
