IRNA - Romanian Ambassador to Iran Adrian Kozjacski said on Monday that the two countries’ economic exchanges amounted to 500 million dollars last year.
Addressing an open session of Arak City Council late Monday, he added that the figure stood at $300 million in 2015, which was increased after an upgrade in diplomatic relations.
In 2016, following reciprocal visits by the two countries' foreign ministers and trade and economic delegations, suitable measures were taken to promote political and economic relations, he said.
There are numerous capacities for consolidating trade ties between Tehran and Bucharest, he said, noting that his trip to Markazi province is aimed at promoting economic exchanges.
Meanwhile, Arak Mayor Davoud Tajeran told the same gathering that sisterhood ageement between Arak and Pitesti will bring about bright economic and commercial future for the two cities.
