IRNA – Oil spill in the Oman Sea near Chabahar and Konarak ports is not right, said deputy chief of Sistan-Baluchistan Department of ports and maritime.


Some social networks have recently spread false news about oil spill in Chabahar and Konarak coasts, said Hassan Ebrahimi on Tuesday.

Ebrahimi said that the phenomenon seen in the pictures taken is not oil spill; it is actually 'algal bloom' that is a regular seasonal occurrence that usually happens after the yearly monsoons in fall and winter.

He also said that the ports are equipped with spill removal equipment, and each and every spill, if any, would be collected instantly.
