IRNA – Iranian former foreign minister and Head of Strategic Council on Foreign Relations Kamal Kharrazi held talks with Syrian President Bashar Assad here on Sunday.

Kharrazi arrived in Syria on Wednesday and has held talks with the Syrian political and religious officials.

Kharrazi and President Assad last met two years ago.

Prior to the on-going visit to Damascus, Kharrazi traveled to Lebanon and confered with several Lebanese political and religious officials.
