Lebanese scholar slams recent Iran riots

2 Jan 2018 - 13:39

IRNA - Head of the Lebanon's Union of Resistance Scholars, Sheikh Maher Hamoud has condemned recent riots in Iranian cities.

The reason behind attacks carried out against Iran is its position toward Palestine and Resistance,” Hamoud said Tuesday in a phone conversation with Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) Ayatollah Mohsen Araki.

The Lebanese scholar confirmed Iran’s official stance regarding legitimate protests.

He also urged all noble people to support Iran’s position in confronting the threat made by US, Zionist regime and reactionary Arab countries.

Meanwhile, Araki said that contrary to claims by certain media, the situation in the country is in safe hands.

“The chaotic measures are the result of US and some Arab countries’ interventions,” he said.

Some cities of Iran have been the scenes of riots during the past days.
