Tasnim– Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei warned of the enemy’s various plots to undermine the Iranian nation and called on the country’s officials to remain vigilant about “the soft war” on the Islamic Republic.
“Some do not like to hear about the propaganda or economic or cultural war (against Iran) and say that we should speak of peace, while the enemy’s war on the Iranian nation in various fields is a reality,” Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing a gathering of Iranian officials in Tehran on Wednesday.
“(Whether or not) we are negligent of this fact, the other side is alert and vigilant, proceeding with its plots,” the Leader added.
Ayatollah Khamenei further described the soft war as more dangerous than a military war, urging the officials to exercise vigilance against such threats against Iran.
The Leader also pointed to the reason behind hegemonic powers’ hostilities toward the Islamic Republic and said over the past four decades, the Islamic Revolution has changed “the wrong structure of power dominating the world” and proved that a nation is able to be not-hegemonic and at the same time refuse to give in to any bullying.
Ayatollah Khamenei also referred to the fate of the Islamic Awakening movements in some Arab and North African countries, which led to sedition, civil wars or religious and ethnic disputes, and said, “The Iranian people have passed through all these stages proudly and powerfully.”
“It is important to understand the plots of the enemy in different fields and times, and then prevent them accordingly or launch a good defense or pre-emptive attack,” the Leader said.
Elsewhere, Ayatollah Khamenei denounced the US as one of the world’s “most corrupt” governments, saying that Washington’s continued support for the Daesh (ISIS or ISIL) terrorist group and other Takfiri groups and authoritarian regimes in the region, including Israel and Saudi Arabia, proves the corruption of the US government.
