Enemies can never impede progress of Iran’s missile program: Top General

21 Dec 2017 - 22:34

Tasnim– President of the Supreme National Defense University of Iran General Ahmad Vahidi praised the country’s growing missile power and said enemies can never disrupt the Islamic Republic’s missile program.

Speaking at a ceremony to commemorate martyred commanders and students of the southern province of Fars in the provincial capital of Shiraz on Thursday, General Vahidi said, “Today, Iran is one of the most powerful countries in the military sector and its main reason is the (country’s) pursuit of valuable concepts of martyr and martyrdom.”

“Today, enemies are seeking to restrict the missile power of Iran but they should be aware that they will never be able to hamper (the country’s progress on) this path,” he said, adding that the power will increase day by day.

The Americans seek to invade Iran, but they know that in that case, they would face a very “catastrophic defeat” and fall into a quagmire, coming out of which would be impossible, the commander went on to say.

Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, including its missile power, which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will be never subject to negotiations.

In a gathering of Army officers earlier in October, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said that vigorous efforts to boost Iran’s power is a non-negotiable issue, warning that the enemies attempt to counter Iran’s national might because they see this as a nuisance.

The adversaries are opposed to the enhancement of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s power in the region and beyond, because such power constitutes the “strategic depth of the Islamic Establishment,” Ayatollah Khamenei said at the time.
