IRNA – Iran's Ambassador to Baghdad Iraj Masjedi in separate messages to senior Iraqi officials extended congratulations on the great victory of Iraqi people and government over terrorists of Daesh.

Masjedi's messages addressed Iraqi President Fuad Masum, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri and Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari.

The Iranian ambassador wrote in the messages that the victory was the outcome of the endeavors of Iraqi Muslim people and unsparing efforts of all armed forces and resistance with the support of honorary religious authority.

He added that Iran, as it was from beginning with the Iraqi people and government, will stand by you for renovation, rebuilding and construction of the country.

Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi officially declared purging Daesh terrorist group from the entire Iraq on Sunday.
