IRNA – Iranian defense minister on Tuesday underlined the elevation of the country's defense capabilities in various fields, including missile.


Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami was quoted as saying in the parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission on Tuesday.

'Iran would continue boosting its defensive capabilities in various areas, including the missile field,' Rapporteur of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Hossein Naqavi Hosseini quoted the defense minister as saying.

In his meeting with the lawmakers, the defense minister pointed to decrease of military threats against Iran, and said that any threat will be given powerful response.

Strengthening air defense capabilities at regional level is on the agenda, he noted.
