IRNA – Visiting Under-Secretary-General for the United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Mark Lowcock conferred on Tuesday with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on expansion of mutual cooperation.
During a meeting in Tehran, Zarif said Iran is ready to urgently send humanitarian relief aids to Syria and Yemen.
Zarif also called for putting an end to war in Yemen as well as creation of suitable grounds for dispatch of humanitarian aids to the people in that country.
Lowcock, for his part, referred to deplorable situation in Yemen due to extraordinary war situation and extensive famine in the country and underlined that the people in Yemen are in dire need of urgent humanitarian aids.
