MNA - The president of Iran held a phone talk with the interior minister Sunday and gave orders on taking immediate measures to assist those afflicted by the earthquake.


Following the earthquake that struck the western and central provinces of Iran, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani had a phone talk with the interior minister on Sunday night where he was informed of the rescue operations and gave subsequent orders.

A devastating 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck close to Iraq-Iran border, killing more than 200 people and injuring thousands.
