MNA – Following the presence of a techno-economic delegation from Switzerland’s canton of Vaud in Tehran, scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries will further develop.
During the meeting with the Swiss delegation, Ali Morteza Birang, Deputy for International Cooperation of the Office of Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology, noted Iran’s various advancements in the field of technology, saying “Iran has made good progress in nanotechnology, and currently ranks fourth in the world in nanotechnology production.”
According to him, about 3,000 knowledge-based companies are active in Iran, the majority of which are active in the field of nanotechnology and technological products.
“Establishing a cooperation link between technological parks of Iran and Switzerland can be effective on development of scientific and technological ties between the two countries,” he added.
With 200 companies situated in Paris Technology Park, Iran can hold business forums between these companies and those active in Switzerland.
Birang also noted the good cooperation between vice presidency for science and technology and China, and added that Iran’s cooperation with Austria is progressing well in the fields of renewable energies, environment and powertrains.
