IRNA - The US documents about Iran alleged relation with Al-Qaeda terrorist group are 'baseless,' a senior Iranian official said on Friday.
'Al-Qaeda has roots in Saudi Wahhabism and the acts of terror at the contemporary (world) have roots in the Tel Aviv-Riyadh-Washington triangle,' Special Aide of Iranian Parliament speaker for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said in a message released on his twitter account.
Meantime, Foreign Minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif on Thursday lashed out US accusations against Iran that the latter had proposed to finance the Al-Qaeda terrorist group.
“A record low for the reach of petrodollars: CIA & FDD fake news w/ selective Al-Qaeda docs re: Iran can't whitewash role of US allies in 9/11,” Zarif wrote on his twitter account.
The US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has recently released some documents claiming that it has obtained during assassination of Osama bin Laden, founder of the terrorist group of Al-Qaeda, during operations in 2011.
On these sheets which are solely meant for removing the stain of disgrace from the US allies, it was claimed that Iran has proposed to provide the terrorist group with financial and arms backing.
This is while, Tehran has always adopted transparent stance against the terrorist groups such as Daesh (ISIS), Taliban and Al-Qaeda.
