IRNA – Head of Agricultural Jihad Organization of South Khorasan province Hashem Valipour Motlaq said on Sunday that the province is exporting its barberry to 30 different countries, including Germany, Australia, Austria, the Netherlands, the UAE and the US.


He said that the province has a total of 15,013 hectares of barberry-cultivated yielding 18,000 tons of crops annually.

Barberry harvest takes place from early October to early November in the area.

The official said that currently around 25,000 families are working in this business in the province.
