Financial Tribune- According to projections made in the government’s comprehensive plan for the housing sector, one million residential units must be built annually for the next 10 years, a deputy roads and urban development minister said.
“About half of this need for residential units pertains to renovating worn-out units located in designated distressed areas and neighborhoods targeted for revitalization,” Hamed Mazaherian also said in a conference for executives in the housing sector.
As the ministry’s deputy for housing and buildings said, the projection has been made in line with the fact that Iran’s total population now borders 80 million while 24 million households have an average of 3.3 members per household. Estimates might be modified in line with potential population changes.
