MNA – Iran’s first VP Es’hagh Jahangiri heading a high-ranking delegation will depart for Turkey Wed. to take part in D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation summit.
Accompanied by a number of ministers and vice presidents, Es’hagh Jahangiri will stay in Turkey for three days to hold talks with senior Turkish officials on ways to expand bilateral relations and exchange views on the recent regional and international developments.
The Iranian first vice-president will also pariticpate in the D-8 summit hosted by Turkey and hold talks with officials from other participating countries on the sidelines of the event.
During the summit, he will discuss development of bilateral relations, prospects for multilateral cooperation, as well as the Islamic Republic’s positions toward various international issues.
The D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, also known as Developing-8, is an organization for development cooperation among the member states including Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkey.
The objectives of D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation are to improve member states' position in the global economy, diversify and create new opportunities in trade relations, enhance participation in decision-making at international level, and improve standards of living.
