Tasnim – Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri praised the country’s growing military power and said the Islamic Republic has the latest technologies in the missile sector.
In remarks released late on Monday, Brigadier General Jazayeri pointed to recent harsh remarks made by US President Donald Trump against Iran and said the Americans are always angry with the Islamic Republic because they have experienced nothing but defeats in the face of the country.
“Iran’s political and defense doctrine is based on the construction and solidity of the Islamic Establishment,” he said, adding that foreign issues do not affect the doctrine.
“In today’s world, the Islamic Republic faces evil enemies like the US and the international Zionism (Israel), and should expand its military industry to defend itself,” the commander noted.
He further made assurances that Iran will never negotiate about its defense and military capabilities with foreign countries, adding that the nuclear energy is different from the missile issue.
“We have the latest technologies in the missile sector and this is good news for our friends, and we have no shortcomings in this regard,” Brigadier General Jazayeri said.
Iran has repeatedly announced that test of missiles is an issue relating to defense of its territorial integrity and has nothing to do with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the nuclear deal reached between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) back in July 2015.
Iran has also underscored frequently that its military might poses no threat to other countries and that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
